looking for the name of a modernist painter?
This man would have been painting somewhere between the early 20th century and the 1960s(?). His inspiration was the architecture abstract Modernist Sculpture of New York city – especially skyscrapers – and he rendered them on large canvases in black and white only. They were impressions rather than faithful illustrations – more abstract than realist. They remind me of rorschach inkblots actually. I can’t remember the name of this painter and its driving me crazy! Any ideas?
