how is my analysis for this picture? is it okay?
‘Nude Woman With Necklace’ by Pablo Picasso is an oil painting done in 1968. This is an abstract piece, it shows a naked woman wearing nothing but a beaded necklace reclined in an arm chair. Her left leg nearly crossing over her right while she balances upright on her right elbow. She is not facing us directly, she is slightly angled to the left, her gaze not quite meeting ours but looking past us. She has a long, straight nose and a few wrinkles on the right cheek, the face is said to be Picasso’s second wife, Jacqueline Roque. she fills the painting so we see little around her, it’s quite hard to make out what her surroundings are pablo picasso Oil pastels but i assume they are just the walls and the arm chair she is laying on. This is a very mangled, disfigured painting, body parts in odd places and in different directions which means you instantly know it is a Picasso piece.I think this picture is eye-catching, i enjoy the colour use, there is a lot of blocks of simple colours and tertiary colours, a good blend of warm and cold colours, the colours are not exact to real life, the hair is blue and the skin is a mix of violet in some places, pale white with a bit of grey and varying shades of green, this creates a more interesting picture, making it more colourful and expressive. It is outlined in black which really emphasises the curves and shape of the woman.Pablo’s pieces were daring, he put his full energy into his work. His work was dismissed as pornographic fantasies of an old man or work that looks like a 6 year old did it using their feet, very slapdash it was only once Picasso had passed that people noticed he had already discovered neo-expressionism and so was ahead of his time.I do like this painting, it is a very unique piece, the bright colours with the scratchy effect is very aesthetically pleasing and the deformation is captivating to look at. It is very appealing and originalit is for the picture ‘nude woman with necklace’ by picassoi think it is quite a weak piece of writing, how could i improve it?thanks x
