I ordered a 21×27 copy of this and was excited to get it. I was disappointed to see that the colors are nowhere near as vivid as they appear in the images, and it was clearly enlarged digitally to the point where the lines were no longer crisp nor sharp. A shame, really, because I love the concept and the colors, but on the wall it sucked the life out of the room.
What Painting is this?!?!?!?
I am not really expecting anyone to know this, but there is a painting at the Milwaukee Art Museum that I saw and loved but cannot remember anything about the title or painter (that’s usually the stuff you want to remember…I guess I was too busy looking at the painting).It looks like this: It is a painting of an orchestra, with the viewpoint of someone in the back of the stage, so we see the orchestra on the stage abstract Painting Large and then the audience as well, sort of as if we were on the stage. There is a conductor and all the regular parts of an orchestra sitting on multiple levels of the stage. There are large curtains on both sides of the stage too, presumably for closing off the stage. There are three chandeliers or maybe four if one is over the stage, can’t remember. And the entire painting is redish and orange, with only back lines used for the objects in it, but I don’t think there are any other colors. Also it is not realistic looking, the people don’t have faces, and proportions are off, but I wouldn’t call it an abstract piece, I think it is a more modern one though.I have searched the museums website and that didn’t help, I’m kind of out of ideas. Does anyone know what this painting is called or who the artist is, or anything about this painting? I would be extrememly grateful.
