Mt. Takao or Mt. Mitake?
So the trip to Japan is coming together… But in doing yet more research, I was wondering which would would make for a more interesting itinerary…On the one hand, we were thinking of visiting Mt. Takao after a morning at the Studio Ghibli Museum, followed by a possible visit to Hachioji Castle if there was enough time. On the abstract Rustic Squares other, I’ve been thinking about spliting that day up and instead of going to Mt. Takao, going further out to Mt. Mitake. So as an abstract question, I guess I would ask which is better… Or more reasonably, what are the differences, positive and negative, between the two sites. I’m asking this with a mind to A) we may still be visiting the Ghibli Museum in the morning, and B) it would be right before or after a visit to Nikko. So I guess I’m curious about the relative merit of each place in terms of natural space, insteresting sights, variety of trails, rustic villages, beauty of the two shrines, travel time, would it be redundant after Nikko (yes, like nature can be redundant *rolls eyes*), etc.
